1 x Delegate Pass including all delegate privileges

Why the two fees?

Due to the unforeseen Coronavirus epidemic, we had to move to an online format for ECCV’20.

We wanted to make delegate fees low (125 GBP) so that more of the community could attend. But we also need to cover the costs of the conference, with no profit nor loss. To cover the costs of the conference, while simultaneously promoting broad attendance, we decided to charge a fee of 450 GBP for each accepted paper (this includes a full registration to the conference and only needs to be paid once for each paper. All other authors who want to attend pay the 125 GBP Delegate Fee). There is a trade-off between the delegate registration and publication fee. The balance that we chose is designed to encourage many more people to attend live and view the paper presentations during the conference.

Because of the expected scale of ECCV (5,000 delegates), delivery is not cheap. A substantial infrastructure is needed to deliver a high quality experience at this scale, incorporating both the web platform and the conference services organisation. Even the financial elements are not cheap: credit card fees, taxes, insurances, legal fees. Finally, we also had costs associated with the originally planned physical conference.

Despite all the costs, we are happy that we could keep the Registration Fee low (125 GBP). It is just about the same as the CVPR’20 student fee, but it applies also to everybody else.

Helpful Tips

  • Ensure the recording space is quiet and without distractions. For best results, use a microphone or deliver close to your laptop microphone
  • Record in a room where there are curtains and carpets and avoid areas with lots of windows and/or hardwood type floors as this can affect sound quality
  • Speak clearly into the microphone
  • Time your videos to ensure that you adhere to the strict timing above
